For the Canadian Hoser – Butter Tarts & Butter Tart Moonshine Box by Reunion Distillery

ABOUT:
Ontario based distillery.

Send 2, 4 or 6 butter tarts with the moonshine!

Canadian foodie gift guide: Butter Tart Moonshine Box

Perhaps the best item in this ultimate Canadian gift guide; This Ontario-made moonshine starts with a classic un-aged Canadian whisky recipe that’s been used in Eastern Ontario for more than a century. Reunion Distillery has turned that old-school method into a playground for flavour, experimenting with local ingredients to create some of the country’s most creative moonshine.

Back in 2017, they landed on their now-famous Butter Tart Moonshine — inspired by Ontario’s Best Butter Tart Festival in Midland, the biggest butter tart festival on the planet. With more than 150,000 butter tarts in one place, how could a Canadian resist? The flavour was such a hit with locals that it’s now a permanent fixture in their lineup.

To nail that nostalgic butter tart flavour, they teamed up with Mrs. Garrett’s Bake Shop — a beloved, family-run bakery in Inverary, Ontario. This little shop has been turning out handmade butter tarts for 37 years, and several members of their tiny team have been there since day one. When we asked if the bakery will still be around decades from now, the answer was an enthusiastic yes, with hopes the grandkids will keep the tradition going.

Everything is made fresh, by hand, every day — and you can taste the love.

What’s in the Box

  • 1 x 750 ml bottle of Reunion Butter Tart Moonshine (25% alc.)
  • 2, 4, or 6 of Mrs. Garrett’s famous butter tarts (packaged in convenient 2-packs)
