Okay, so my previous post about Cancun may have been a little cynical, but there were still moments of surprise and fun…Such as a beach party hosted by Moet Champagne and some amazing DJ’s from Miami.
Our hotel, The Royal Cancun |
Our drinks were free and sweet (except the wine which was sour) and the music was making the grains of sand dance. The moon also arrived full, with a glow on.
It was inspiring to see people of all ages get up on the glass dance floor with bare feet and dance the night away. The decor was also inspiring along with dancers in costume that performed choreographed dances to Lady Gaga and other top 40 hits.
The Entrance |
Although there was this awkward moment of a guy dressed in really tight short shorts who balanced a ball over his head for 30 seconds or more…
My sister learned the hard way that night not to mix shots of tequila and big ol’ cigars. While she fell asleep I heard her tossing and turning moaning “No Mass!” (no more).
The party was jumpin’ jumpin’! |
This beach party only lasted until 11 pm which isn’t much of a party and didn’t leave much time for people to throw their inhibitions away. However, one Japanese woman who may have been about 50+ is my hero. She got on that dance floor first and was the last to leave.
Despite the brevity of the dance party, I have to say that it was a nice change of pace from the usual drink, eat, tan & swim situation that resorts offer. I just wish it would have lasted longer!
I always love people who will just get up there and start the dancing, not caring if they are all alone in doing it.
Oh how fun, but your poor sister. Great post and pics!
The guy with the ball was interesting I think he knew that we were using him to bug each other, sending him over to to do awkward things with the ball right beside us. Too bad I didn't use “No Mass” before it was too late. Oh well, lesson learned. Mexico: 1 Taryn: 0. I will return to even the score though. Great post, loved the pictures.
