As the maid of honour for my sister’s wedding I knew we’d be going to Las Vegas. And I really wanted to create affordable DIY bachelorette swag bags for the trip. My aim was to keep it a bit cheeky with a Las Vegas Bachelorette Bingo and the full itinerary so that everyone knew what was on the agenda.
So if you’re looking to create some DIY Bachelorette swag bags or if you’re a bride and want to show your appreciation for your girls making it all the way to celebrate YOU, here are some tips and ideas.
Canva Template – Itinerary & Bachelorette Bingo
I wanted to create a bit of mischief during our trip so I knew Bachelorette Bingo was the way to do it. Think of it as a series of dares that are mostly related to your group and the location you’re celebrating in. I made mine using Canva and saved paper by placing our itinerary on the backside. As the organizer of the bachelorette party, you’ll be asked what the plan is very often so save your sanity and get an itinerary printed. You can save on paper by texting the itinerary to your girls upon arrival.
If you’d like to download and use my dual sided Canva template be sure to subscribe to our newsletter. You’ll receive the link immediately in the welcome email. Feel free to switch it up to suit your Bachelorette!
I will warn you, I reprinted these about 3 times before I promised myself I would stop changing the itinerary, but I also left some room to leave it spontaneous. Don’t crowd your itinerary and reserve mornings for pool days to nurse a hangover.
What to award the winner of Las Vegas Bachelorette Bingo?
In Las Vegas we stopped at a CVS and found these little awards that had “Best Bachelorette” on the base. These work perfectly as a little trinket. OR you could get everyone to buy a tacky Vegas trinket for the winner.
Customized or Monogrammed Items
I knew I wanted to take customized stainless steel wine tumblers. They are great for a memento to take home but I also considered the fact that on the Las Vegas strip you can have a drink. We are wine drinkers so having a good wine in the room was essential so that we could take it with us and at least start the day that way. If we brought it in our bags we could also pour a glass to go from a cocktail lounge rather than having the waiter pour it into a plastic cup.
I thought about providing the gang with their own monogramed luggage bag tags but opted for makeup bags that were big enough to hold all the items I’d be providing them with. I found all of these on Amazon, Etsy and Port & Parcel Co (use code MURISSAMAURCIEEATS for 15% off).
What to put into your DIY Bachelorette Swag Bags?
What to put into your Las Vegas bachelorette swag bags may depend on your budget. I had a smaller budget but I still wanted to make a big impact. We were headed to Las Vegas which was in the midst of a heat dome so I wanted to take that into account. You’ll also need to know if everyone is traveling with a carry-on or if they are checking their bags. Many of these count as liquids or gels so they might need to check a bag if they already have too many liquids.
Items you’ll want to bring for the heat. It’s a bonus if you buy these from the dollar store or Amazon. Many of these came in bulk on Amazon or cheaper than I could find in my home town.
Toiletries and “Luxury” Items
Hangover Prevention
- Lip Balm with SPF
- SPF sunscreen (hotels sell them for $20-$35!)
- Shaving cream (this is a luxury I rarely pack for myself as a carry on queen)
- Eye masks – Grace & Stella are individually packed!
- Hydrating face and or body lotion – hello, we are in the desert!
- Aloe Vera for after sun care
- Be Sprucy hand sanitizer – The best hand sanitizer without any sticky residue or terrible smell.
- NoDays Wasted Supplements – These work!
- Electrolytes to keep up on your hydration – I did 2-3 individuals per pack
- NAC/Glycine Powder * – This tip came from Lauren at Goods & Health. Mix 1 scoop of Glycine powder with 1 pack of electrolytes and water. Drink in the morning and before bed after a night of alcohol. It is incredible how it helps with “hangxiety”.
*This is best to keep in your room and dole out as needed. Put the most motherly woman (or man) to do this task.
Veils, Sashes, Themes and Room Decor
Depending on your bride you may want to buy sashes or even head out dressed up as Guy Fieri on a pub crawl. Our bride was a bit more stylish so I splurged on a really lovely veil I found on Etsy.
We also split the cost for the room decor, however, our flights were delayed so we had to change the room decoration to the following day (without her knowing). Room decor varies from $180 to $400+. We opted for the $180 with “Vegas before Vows” banner. We really enjoyed the service we got from Balloon Decor LV and if you use the Let’s Batch App you can get a discount. The App also helps you split costs, plan and keep everything collaborative.
Since our flights were delayed I decided to reveal the swag bags at our Gazebo rental at the NoMad pool within Park MGM. The pool gazebo or cabana rental was a stand out day for us all. We got to relax and enjoy drinks and brunch poolside. I highly recommend but do be aware that prices for poolside food and drinks are pricey! Water is free so if you’re not partaking, that is a bonus. If you know the Vegas strip, waters can run from $8 to $15 per bottle!
Pool Rental or Room Decor?
If you’re deciding between a room decor OR a poolside Gazebo, I’d go with the pool! The balloons can be a bit much if you’re sharing a room or have a smaller room. Trust me, the pool is where it is at!
Typically, Cabana’s for 6-12 people go for $500-$1200 and last you from 9 am to until 7 pm with a TV, fruit platter and cold waters. We did a smaller Gazebo for $200 for 4 people and found it offered plenty of room and included 3 sun chairs, a fruit platter and a bucket of cold waters. Daybeds are also available for $125 – $150 but can only seat 2 and include a bucket of cold waters.
Other Theme ideas for a bachelorette
Themes for a Bachelorette party can be as crazy or tame as your bride. So make sure she’s comfortable and will actually wear what you buy her.
- Dress as Guy Fieri
- Dress as your favourite celebrity chef
- Go as Alan from the Hangover
- Everyone wear sequins!
- Dress as mobster wives
