You know you want it. My easy Egg Slut sandwich recipe is calling to you like a siren in sequins. Oh, wait that’s the drink lady. Sorry, for a minute there I was having hallucinations of being back in Vegas.
Are you familiar with Egg Slut?
You feel kind of naughty saying the name of this franchise. Like it is a taboo. Like you’re openly revealing a safety word yet you say it while shrugging your shoulders aloofly replying, “That’s the name”.
My first Egg Slut breakfast sandwich was fittingly in Las Vegas back in 2016. 8:45 am – when most of the sin city visitors are hiding their eyes tightly beneath their luxury sheets in their cozy strip hotel rooms, I was awaiting my Egg Slut bacon and egg sandwich in the hallway of the Cosmopolitan.
Yes, I too was a little hungover but I needed sustenance.
Normally, if you wait until about 9 am onward you’ll find a long line up at Egg Slut. Too long if you ask me so go anytime prior and you’ll be fine.
Note, you will have to dine in the Cosmopolitan Hotel hallway in front of MilkBar and Momofuku. Usually, the seats are all taken and the ledge along the greenery overlooking the casino is as good as any seat in the house. Just make sure you grab plenty of napkins because it is going to be a messy ride.
So what makes Egg Slut so special?
Well it could be the brioche bun or the crispy bacon. The runny egg is a must for me. That chipotle ketchup is also killer. Really, it could be your state of mind and the fact that your body needs all of these components.
I decided one morning, a morning when I was supposed to be going to Las Vegas (cancelled by pandemic), that I would make a Vegas inspired breaky. The legendary Egg Slut Bacon, Egg & Cheese.
Simplicity at its greasiest…and best.

Details
4 sandwiches
10 minutes
20 minutes
Lambrusco or Sparkling Wine
Ingredients
4 Brioche buns
or during pandemic white Wonderbread burger buns12-16 slices of good thick cut bacon (3-4 slices per sandwich)
4 quality eggs from your local farmer
6 tbs ketchup or make your own with this recipe
1 tbs chipotle paste
Cheddar slices
Directions
- Fry up your bacon in the same pan you’ll be frying your eggs. Drain bacon on paper towel. Keep your bacon fat in the pan!
- Open your buns and toast them cut side down in the bacon fat. You want it to be a bit toasty on the edges and bottom. Set aside. Put your cheese on top portion immediately so that it sticks a bit. Spread desired amount of ketchup and any other condiments on your base bun. Note: I do mayo on top bun and ketchup on bottom but then again I am Canadian.
- Fry your eggs in residual bacon fat. If you don’t have any more, fry up another piece of bacon (it ain’t going to waste) or just add cooking oil. Season your eggs with salt and pepper. I like my egg yolks soft and gooey. You want them to burst when you first bite into the sandwich.
- Lay your egg on the bottom bun. Put 3 slices of bacon on top of your egg. Assemble with the top bun in place. Voila, you have yourself a greasy delicious breakfast sandwich. Now, where’s that drink lady at?
OMG, we’re loving the four-thick cut pieces of bacon. The naughty “slut” name got our attention right away. We are not ashamed. Om nom.
lol me too! But I was in Las Vegas at the time of my discovery but it was less shocking considering the context of Vegas’ reputation. So good though! <3 Never enough bacon!
