Who wants a Food Tours Kelowna Foodie Box?
I’ve been struggling. Food Tours Kelowna, my food tour company, was supposed to launch on April 4th and the very partners we were to work with are trying to push through this unprecedented crisis. My sister, co-owner of Food Tours Kelowna, and I wanted to help support them in some way in order to ensure that we have partners after the crisis.
Taryn and I developed the Food Tours Kelowna Foodie Box with free delivery in areas of the Okanagan.
On April 17th we are going to be delivering our Foodie Boxes to residents around the Okanagan Valley. Of course, we will be following the protocols of the day; social distancing, 6 feet of separation, using sanitizer after every drop off and so on.
Our boxes include the following locally owned and operated gems in Kelowna who are offering take out options.
Sweets by Sask

On our first “practice” tour we were able to squeeze in during the month of March before all this mess with CORONA-19 hit us in Canada we started our tour with branded cookies from Sweets by Sask. It was only going to be for our kick off tours in March and April but guests agreed it needed to be made a permanent fixture. Our Food Tours Kelowna Foodie Boxes. For our first box we are offering Saskia’s London Fog cookie with an amendment to “Where the Locals Go” > “Stay the %#*! Home”.
Provisions/CrAsian

On April 13th you can catch Chef Brock Bowes as a contestant on Top Chef Canada! Right now he as well as sisters Courtney & Meiko Koga are creating menu items for their ‘Pay what you please’ program in order to help locals enjoy take out during potential job loss or a financial hit.
Provisions, located inside the Kettle River Brewery, is definitely a show stopper on our North End Beers & Bites tour. We select a “big board” and to our guests amazement they provided a feast with a walk through by a Chopped Canada champ, Chef Bowes! The food is always stellar which is why we felt they were a must in our Foodie Box.
You can find 2 chicken legs, 2 beer biscuits, gravy and coleslaw precooked and ready to heat on April 17th or order directly from them! They win, we win as we are all in this together!
Kettle River Brewing

You can’t have Provisions without Kettle River brews. This nano brewery was the first to set up in Kelowna’s North End so we like to think they started a brewery revolution in the area. As we mentioned above, Kettle River and Provisions are a partnership that we enjoy. There’s nothing like a cold beer and one of Provisions burgers on the patio!
Perseval & Young Cheesemongers
One of the first locally owned specialty shops to offer delivery was P&Y. They’ll drop cheese from around the world to your door. Fitting because they began their company with subscription boxes of cheese. They were quick to pivot their business and soon everyone followed. We couldn’t have our Foodie Box without them and our patrons agree, their cheese selection is impressive to say the least. They were the favourite stop on the North End Beers & Bites tour for how much cheese they offered our guests AND the fascinating stories that came from each.
Karat Pastry & Chocolate

As we prepared our two flagship tours, North End Beers & Bites as well as the Landmark District Tour, for launch in April we were behind the scenes developing a third kid friendly tour in downtown Kelowna. One of our stops was to be Karat Pastry & Chocolate. Their amazing creations need to be on your Instagram feed if you’re any kind of foodie. Their geometric chocolate bars with meticulously selected ingredients and splashes of colour make a sweet addition to our Food Tours Kelowna Foodie Box.
Ricco Bambino
Another tour option we were offering was a wine bar themed tour of downtown Kelowna. In fact, our first private tour featuring wine was going to be with Subscription Box Girl, Kelsey. She was coming to the Okanagan from Vancouver to cover the Great Okanagan Beer Fest in May, an event I’ve been enlisted to cover when it first came to Kelowna.
Sadly, the event has been cancelled due to Corona but we’re sending Kelsey a mini version of our tour which will include a bottle of Ricco Bambino’s Rosé. Their wines are described as limited intervention electric wines. Ricco Bambino makes one of my favourite Syrahs and bubbles in the Okanagan Valley and their playful labels will put a smile on any wine lovers face. We can’t wait to deliver these bottles in our Food Tours Kelowna Foodie Box!
In addition to the items listed above we will also be including a 5 pack of our own postcards and a discount code for any future tours with Food Tours Kelowna.
We’ve had stories shared with us by some of those who have placed an order. A couple getting married had to cancel their wedding, a nurse just wants a break with our box, a real estate agent desires something to look forward to and so on. We hope to hear yours!
Sound great!
Love this kind of boxes allows you to try different things without thinking to much.
