The best summer eats can be experienced at Kelowna food trucks. And the best food trucks in Kelowna can be found on social media. I use social media like Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube to find the best of any city before I go anywhere. If locals are talking about it, you know it is good.
But let’s get to it! Our list of 10 best food trucks in Kelowna are broken down by location, West Kelowna and Kelowna. As a local crossing the bridge is a daunting task. In peak tourist season, on a holiday, at rush hour, it can take an hour to get from West Kelowna over the bridge back into Kelowna. You’ve been warned so plan your food truck hunting accordingly!
Please note, before you come at us for not including Smokeshow BBQ – they are no longer a food truck and are based inside the Hatching Post Brewery. Rules are that you cannot takeaway during the busy season, especially orders over $50.
Bunny Hugs Fresh Food Collective
Based on the name, Bunny Hugs, we had always figured this West Kelowna food truck featured Vegan food.
We were so wrong!
Bacon cheeseburgers, jerk chicken mac n’ cheese, Korean BBQ bowl, so many great dishes for carnivores as well as a couple vegan dish. You can find them in West Kelowna at Paynter’s Market like we did in the video. But they have a concise social media presence so you know exactly where to find them and when.

Donutery Food Truck
We sincerely miss our Dolicious Donuts that is no longer in operation in West Kelowna. So when we found Donutery serving up freshly made donuts at Paynter’s Market we jumped on the happy coincidence. Big donuts with even bigger flavour. You can find basic information like location and time on their social media. You can find them on Facebook or Instagram to find out more including if they offer catering.

Bun Intended
We really wanted to include this West Kelowna food truck in our video above but there was so much confusion among the staff at Black Swift Vineyards (where they are usually perched based on their social media) if they were even open. It turns out they were but not until 2 at a neighbouring cidery. Unfortunately, we had to move on but it is worth a stop if you can find them. They definitely need to up their social media game to the same level as their food.
Socials:
Little Tokyo Ramen
This is perhaps the most coveted of food trucks in Kelowna. Offering the most authentic ramen with a depth of flavour that transports you to the streets of Tokyo, it is no wonder they sell out each day. You can find them at Barn Owl Brewing. I love the white miso ramen but you can’t go wrong with the traditional. You can’t miss the converted Bowler trailer in bright red and white with the Little Tokyo Ramen logo designed by local artist Ashleigh Green.

The Spot Food Truck
One of my personal favourites especially because it is at a local winery, Priest Creek, not far from my home. Their tacos are killer and often sell out but my beloved Nashville hot chicken wins it every time especially paired with the Priest Creek rosés of which they have 3 to choose from. Grab a picnic spot and while away the afternoon over great food and wine surrounded by vineyard on a historic property.
Socials:
Crasian Food Truck
Always a local favourite. You really can’t go wrong with anything served up by the Koga sisters, also co-owners of Provisions Kitchen & Catering and Boxcar at BNA. Their famous Boxcar fries are general crowd pleasers but grab a burger or their very delicious kimcheese balls.

Reggae Fusion Food
This was such a pleasant surprise on our tour. Featured in the video, the Reggae Fusion food truck offers a delicious island dog which is made with a toasted croissant bun and all the sauces. So good! We also loved the well priced and tasty beef patty along with a jerk chicken plate to go. Head to the Kasugai Zen Gardens for a fantastic picnic spot hidden behind the Kelowna City Hall.

YLW Food Truck
A classic stop here in Kelowna. Killer plate lunches, taco plates and burritos that will fill you for days. You can find them along Highway 97 tucked into One Board Shop’s parking lot there are a lot of neighbouring businesses and road traffic so be sure to get there early to avoid too much of a wait.
Socials:
The Lobster Pot
The Lobster Pot has been embraced by the Okanagan community and is now a local favourite. With two trucks that can be found at any number of locations throughout the valley, you’ll need to pay close attention to their regularly updated social media to avoid disappointment. Sometimes you can find them at Barn Owl Brewing in the mission area of Kelowna, or Gasoline Alley heading out of Kelowna towards Vernon along Highway 97 or sometimes you’ll luck out and run into them in Penticton, Vernon or Blind Bay in the Shuswap. Huge chunks of buttered lobster await! It’s pricey at about $25 per roll but hey IT IS lobster after all.

California Surfside Tacos
Sit beachside and order some filling dishes from California Surfside. I’ve never had a bad lunch or breakfast from this food truck. The breakfast burrito is one of my all time favourites with tater tots, fresh pico de gallo, cheese and eggs. Simple and satisfying.
Their tacos are incredible as well and nothing makes a beach day at Rotary Beach Park more satisfying that enjoying Surfside tacos on this sandy beach of Okanagan Lake. Watch for flying sand from neighbouring kiddos!

YLW Food Lab
Is it really a food truck? More like a food cart. This year the Food Lab is stationed at Kitshc Winery and is from the mind that brought us Broken Anchor Food Truck featured in our first video. It seems Rob has since moved on to other ventures. You can find dishes to perfectly pair with Kitsch wines – flatbreads, whipped feta, charcuterie, mussels and more. They could use some improvement to their social media game but considering how busy Kitsch winery can get you might be better off making a wine tasting reservation to ensure a space.

Tak-Oh Traditional Mexican Food Truck
New to Kelowna for 2022, the Tak-Oh food truck features traditional and simple Mexican food like beef, chicken tinga, pork pibil and fish tacos. Tak-Oh has been spotted everywhere from the Ok Corral until 2 am, Better Earth Gardens on KLO rd., Vibrant Vine winery and popular fruit stands throughout the central Okanagan. Follow social media for all their up to date locations and menus.

Kitchen Party Grilled Cheese
Situated at a darling of a stop at a fruit stand on KLO rd., The Kitchen Party Grilled Cheese food truck in Kelowna offers unique grilled cheese pairings like blueberry, crab and shrimp, the classic and Colleen even whips up a mean milkshake. This is a favourite of my family’s as we enjoy stopping at the fruit stand, paying a visit to the goats in pen, showing my kiddos the veggies and fruits growing on site and getting a snack at the grilled cheese food truck in Kelowna.
If you like food trucks have you tried the food truck that’s parked at Off The Grid Organic Winery?
I love their pizzas but they have other options too!
Anyways, loved the article and I have definitely added some of these food trucks on my list to try!
Yay that’s great to hear!
We need to do an update for 2024! So many great new food trucks to try and the Off The Grid food truck is on our list.
