Venice, as I explain to anyone who asks, is one of those places that makes your heart glow when you think about it. At least it is for me. Where else can you see history preserved in time so much so that Marco Polo and Shakespeare would know their way around the city today if resurrected?
It’s a living museum with its inhabitants observing you as much as you observe them. I tried to tap into the locals rhythm.
Market in the morning. Aperitif in the afternoon. Dinner after 7:30 pm. A slow wander of the streets in between. But you’ll always be a tourist to them. Although, thanks to GowithOh, I was able to experience a bit of what it would be like to live the Venetian lifestyle. In short, it was delicious and filled with wine. Here are some images of my “Instagramed” Venice photos from late June.
GowithOh apartment view in the Dorsoduro area not far from the Accademia bridge.
The Frari church only a 15 to 20 minute walk from our Dorsoduro apartment. It is my favourite church in all of Italy!
Rialto Market offerings.
The much needed daily cafe although this one a little special…more on that soon!
Cicchetti and wine as we toured the streets with Walks of Italy experiencing the best and most historic wine bars in the city.

Great photos of one of my favorite cities! Glad you had a fabulous time (and it looks like you ate well too).
Thank you Megan! We ate very well, drank plenty of wine and explore until our feet were blissfully sore.
Looks like you had a wonderful trip! Lovely photos too.
Thanks Laura!
It was certainly an interesting trip traveling with my sister and her now ex-boyfriend – more on that soon!
I have been following on Facebook and have enjoyed what I see.
Thanks Val!
I loved your photos from Diner en Blanc – hope to join you next year!
You’ve managed to capture my favourite city so well with your photos and comments, especially when you refer to it as a living museum which it certainly felt like when we were there in 2011. Gosh, has it really been three years since we were there? 0_o Time to go back!
Thanks Dale!
It was interesting returning a second time around. Still lots to see and photograph and there’s always something new going on.
